Travis Babcock, 31, died Monday, June 8, 2026, after a motorcycle crash on the Hughes Street overpass near SW First Avenue in Amarillo, Texas.

Amarillo Police said officers responded after reports of a crash involving two motorcycles and an SUV.

Investigators said both motorcycles traveled north on Hughes Street alongside the SUV before Babcock’s motorcycle lost control, entered oncoming traffic, and collided with the SUV.

Authorities said a second motorcycle also lost control but avoided hitting the SUV.

Babcock died at the scene, while the second rider and the SUV driver went to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries.

Officials said the crash remains under investigation as of the June 10, 2026 report.
